FOR ENGLISH SPEAKING
TODAY 'my birthday, and about in an old book of anecdotes about theholidays I found the source of the tradition of the blow out the candles .... veryinteresting!!
It seems that this custom goes back even to the ancient Greeks, who in honorof Artemis, protector of the young and the moon goddess of hunting and childbirth, offered a kind of honey cake with a candle in half before makingthe request, hence the 'origin to make a wish before blowing out the candlesto celebrate .... However, in the Middle Ages in Germany, some bakersthought to surround the sweets on the occasion of the birthday, a tradition thatwent perfected over the years until you get to this day .....
Instead, with regard to the inevitable slap of ears, it seems that in ancient times was a practice to ward off evil spirits to ensure good luck for the next year .... Well I think that is true or not has little importance, I still think it is nice to maintain customs and traditions of our beautiful people!
